On the morning of June 20th, the first domestic 2,000 tons electric transport ship "Dongxing 100" equipped with the EVE marine battery system, was officially delivered and put into operation in Huzhou. "Dongxing 100" was designed and built by China.
"Dongxing 100" transport vessel is guided by Hubei Donghu Laboratory, integrated by Hubei Donghu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd and energy storage system, fire protection system and environmental control system of Hefei Zhaoyang Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. The transport vessel is 62.7 meters long, 12.4 meters wide and 4.1 meters deep, with a full-load displacement of 2,270 tons, a maximum cargo capacity of 1,800 tons and a maximum speed of 16km/h.
The vessel is equipped with an EVE LF280 high-capacity LFP battery-pack power supply system and two 150kW permanent magnet propulsion motors directly driving the propellers, which replaced the previous diesel generator to provide power for "Dongxing 100". The new power system has outstanding advantages such as fast start-up at sailing, high efficiency, zero-emission, no pollution, low noise and low operating cost.
According to the ship owner’s calculation, the ship is equipped with an EVE 3400 kWh LFP battery, which takes only 4-5 hours for one charge to sail 300km with a full load. The configured DC integrated power system has a rated efficiency of 93% when sailing and 96% when charging. The ship can save about 100,000 liters of fuel consumption and 260 tons of carbon dioxide emission per year after the operation. Meanwhile, the ship has no oil sewage, the noise is 15 decibels lower than the traditional diesel engine ship, and the annual operating cost is only 1/5 of the same tonnage diesel propulsion ship.
As early as 2016, EVE marine power battery was certified by the China Classification Society (CCS) and is the first batch of professional lithium battery enterprises entering the vessel’s domain in China. Up to now, the total installed capacity of EVE ship power battery inspected and certified by the China Classification Society (CCS) exceeds 100MWh. The number of ships installed exceeds 300. The battery system carried by this transport vessel is the first battery system with more than 3,000 degrees of electricity independently developed by EVE. This significant achievement marks another breakthrough in the electric ship industry and has positive significance to help ecological green water transportation in the future.
In the future, EVE will continue to implement the concept of green development, cooperate with all parties, actively promote the popularization and application of electrification in the marine field, promote the development of inland green ships, and help achieve the “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals”.
